The View From my Window

A bird stops by
on her daily commute
a little spaggie - of no importance at all;
no title, no song, not even a grain of rice to her name,
and yet when she pauses in mid-flight by my window,
so early, so calm,
so peaceful she looks:

much like the waters of green and white-gold
that gird the ground she covered in swift strokes
of her little wing-span of barely 6inches I'd say,
is the joy that spills over my window and me.
Though hard to weave into words  the feel
the sunshine of her presence is there to see
for anyone who'd chance to wait at day-break
by my window with me;

there's bliss and contentment for a whole day's living
and a lot more to learn about loving and giving
the simplest joys that make your heart sing-a-lingin'...
with just a short visit from the least of our friends
that even a guest with no invite
can fill the soul with such delight...

if only you open your window a-right
for dawn to dance in with the first ray of light
that's all about the view from my window for now
and that's what I carry with me till night.

P.S. This is the actual view from my home-office window in Bhimtal, lake town in Uttaranchal and Spaggies, a real couple, come by every morning to simply check on flowers growing - or my wellbeing, or so I like to think.
Hope you have a nice day and this non-bird song filled you with some of the joy I feel when I see my little feathered friends.
