The world got too much with you ever?
Noisy neighbors, interfering in-laws, cash-strapped friends (or even overly flush with it ones) that make you feel out of place in your world...
Songs that play over and over again in your head that you never really liked, trash dumped in your space (mental and physical) that blinds the focus of your eyes...
Purple, painful thoughts that violently tear you apart till dry tears weave a temporary patch on old wounds...
Dying colors of the sun that inhale with them old heartaches that just wont let go...
dreams of a better tomorrow from across a lonely, crowded town...
Or a forgotten hospital bed....
Banging your small toe in the middle of the night when you get up to fetch a glass of water for someone you are still mad at, but love too much to show;
Not being able to locate that torch/ bunch of keys/ document/ college pal/ string of words when you need it most ...
Old grudges, past betrayals, cutting sharp with someone dear
like getting an unsavory meal when you're least expecting it...
cruel phrases curving on your tongue
wanting to hurt, wanting to heal...
wanting to love, wanting to run...
wanting strength
without the trials,
wanting patience
without the wait,
endless wants
forever calm
pursuing joys
and transient charms...
We all do it.
And nature's alike
though tags be different:
work, worship - vocation, wife.
Such an ephemeral
thing is life
that a plug for peace
is all we seek
to fill the void;
you know, like something to stem the tide?
Suicidal thoughts?
Yeah, had 'em...
Blamed this one, that one and the unborn one (may as well - what's the harm?)
for all my burden....
but clouds their perfect work
need to do
and my light did come
shining through
...
an ordinary heart
an extraordinary faith....
"Never give up, " he said -
Ray of Hope, hobbling along
the sore-pressed bend in Life's long road,
"I never did." (His smile almost a song)
Then, he and the boy turned the bend,
Giving my spirits a leg-up, to carry my load.

He's Ray. Now, won't you say 'Hi' to HOPE?

Hi Anjala,
I loved the way you worded it - circuit breakers sure is apt for breaking the spell of despair it is easy to succumb to, if we don't make an effort to rise above d 'stumble list.'
Thank u for sharing ur views :-)

Some little acts, some kind words..unexpected.....act as circuit breakers of the positive kind, isn't it? Liked your 'stumble-list' :))

DSampath,
sometimes the least of us can show the way for sowing kindness - where hopes grow tall, but sometimes even small ones do the job just as well.
Thank you.
